Where is Little Choga?

LCPPOA at a Glance

Our community is located on the North shore of Nantahala Lake in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. At 3012’ it is the highest elevation recreational lake over 1500 acres east of the Missisippi River. We are just south of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Aquone, Macon County, NC.

We are surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest and served by the nearby towns of Andrews, NC and Franklin, NC.

Nantahala Lake is a clear deep (over 230’ in the area of the dam) impoundment that is used to generate electricity. The lake supports a natural population of Large and Smallmouth Bass, Kokanee salmon, Walleye, Rainbow and Brown trout. Most of its shore is in the Nantahala National Forest and is heavily forested.

At an elevation of over 3,000 feet, we enjoy beautiful mountain views, some snow in the winter, and long, very comfortable, summers.
